CONSOL is an E&P company with tier-1 coal assets and operates a natural gas division.

Following the sale of 5 underground mines to Murray Energy in Dec 2013, CNX is the ninth-largest US coal producer with approx. 31 million tons/year of coal produced between Napp, Capp, and UT.

CNX is the largest coal producer in Napp.

Approximately 4 million tons/year of production is high quality low-vol coking coal.

CNX has legacy liabilities of about $760 mm as of the end of Q3 2014.

As of Dec 31, 2013 (post Murray transaction), CNX had an estimate 3.03 billion tons of reserves, and approx. 15,000 gross natural gas wells, primarily in Appalachia.

The majority of coal comes from highly-efficient longwall mining operations.  CNX owns 100% of CNX Gas (CXG), a very large producer of Marcellus & Utica shales. CONSOL Energy Inc. was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
